Baptized « Éclat de Lumière », the Balvenie Peated Cask collector’s box set is the result of two craftsmanship, and will be available from June at the Maison du Whisky in 50 numbered copies, at the cost of 150 euro.
The Balvenie, handcrafted whisky par excellence, joins the Sanson brothers, two renowned French cabinetmakers, to make a box set in special wood. The accomplished cutting of the box set puts the bottle in a matrix which redefines its shape.
17 years, 17 oak elements, 17 light effects
The Sanson brothers chose a noble material, a fine-grained and quarter-cut oak to remind of the casks of the distillery. The box set directs the light depending on the viewing angle, creating 17 light effects. Contrasting the openings, laths produce a kinetic effect through the alternation of light and dark shades.
The 17 years of age Single Malt, made from the assembly of old and new casks, is rich and spicy with a hint of smoke that awaken, without covering it, the brand-specific honeyed sweetness.
