In the heart of the golden triangle of Paris, Ekaterina Sotnikova is warmly welcoming the great watches admirers in her Ekso Watches Gallery case.
The intimate and cozy atmosphere of this private show is propitious to the discovery of masterpieces. Far from the regular shops ambiance, the founder will make you discover her passion for the beautiful watches.
The EKSO collection reveals the refined and wise sense of taste of its owner. She is offering a various panel of styles, from classical to modern, from exuberance to fine jewelry. You will also come up with many kind of elaborations, such as the «regulator», the «dead second», the «minute repeater». As well as the «sophistications» of the time measurement with whirlpools or an escapement of direct impulse.
The selection highlights nine designers. At the forefront of the news, De Bethune presents his DB28 watch, sacred «golden needle» during the 2011 Grand Prix of Geneve. You will be able to admire the made blue titanium and the shapes that invite to cosmical travel…
Among the «off standard» creations, you will have the privilege to reach the productions of Vianney Halter, twice elected «Best watchmaker» to the «Grand Prize of Geneve». He is the creator of the Harry Winston Opus 3, which was rewarded.
The other watchmakers selected by EKSO are just as outstanding: Ludovic Ballouard, who introduces his Uside Down watch and its novel system of digit reversal to mark time ; or Kari Voutilainen. His Vingt-8 watch renews the classical codes with its soft rounded, its uncommon level of finish and its «homemade» caliber. Production will be limited to 40 pieces a year.
However, if you are rather looking for northern modernism and exigency, Ekaterina can offer you the One Hertz from the Grönefeld brothers. Behind its robust case and its modern style, it is hiding a rare elaboration: «the dead second». The minute hand and its dial seem to be floating above the time by making one-complete-second pauses before continuing its race.
Peter Speake Marin brings to the collection its British culture touch on the case of its «minute repeater» whirlpool. An emphasis by «total skeletonised» on the caliber has been made.
The feminity of the owner expresses itself on other choices. Thus, can we find a poetry counted by the floral models of the Bovet or DeLaneau manufactures. Those designers express their arts even on the bracelet. The former represents a modularity prowess and the latter, a tribute to leather craft. The octopus that encloses the ReKulator of Kudoke seem to be willing not to let time escape from it, in a harmony of volute and colors.
Ekaterina Sotnikova can as well offer to passionate and demanding clients unique personnalisations, made after her command. She will advise them with her discerning collector experience and the listening offered by/during a private meeting. The expert is reassuring by her speech. She is very confident when it comes to technique, which passionates her as much as aesthetic. Having participated in the watchmaking training at the Fondation de Haute Horlogerie in Geneve (CH), she knows every part and their elaborations, relieves perfectly every technical concepts.
When it comes to tell the personal stories of designers, Ekaterina is just as inexhaustible. After having visited each of their workshops and nurtured a close relationship with them, she can today guarantee the best reactivity of the market. In case of problems, the owner commits herself to personally give back the parts in 15 days. She is the exclusive retailer for the majority of her collection in Paris.
Finally, Ekaterina’s hability to speak several languages, including English, French, Italian and Russian, facilitates communication with visitors from all origins. An interpret is present for meetings with Chinese guests.
