On the occasion of the «Jonathan Swift» pen launching, the Montblanc house exhibits some photographic work of Jonathan Rauzier, whose travels take us into the footsteps of Gulliver…The exhibit takes place in the boutique Montblanc, rue de la Paix, until September the 2nd.
Imaginary and fantasy are the two dominant themes of his work, which plays with reality. A vision, to say the least, very special of important cultural sites of several cities in the world: Rome, Versailles, Paris, Abu Dhabi…
With the hyperphoto concept, the artist presents a parallel world to ours under a dreamlike prism. Technically, his pictures are virtual made of several thousands of telephoto shooting, assembled by computer.
The artistic demarche of Jean-François Rauzier borrows several themes developped in Jonathan Swift’s philosophical tale. First of all, both of the pieces of art are playing plastically with macro and microscopique waves. Jonathan Swift confronts his hero to worlds with extreme proportions. The photograph’s technique offers a constant movement between the very big and the very small, the detail and the global in order to lose us in scales and proportions. Furthermore, both of the artists tell their vision on Man, his place in the world, his relation to cultures and the world.
Henceforth known all over the world, JF Rauzier’s work is asked to work for famous brands: Chevrolet, Vuitton (for its boutique in Venise), Perrier (for its partnership with Rolland Garros), …
