Spring/Summer collection of the Plaza Athénée

The Plaza Athénée, its courtyard and its culinary creations for spring/summer 2012 …

The chef Alain Ducasse, who oversees the restaurants of the palace, prepares a menu with Mediterranean accents  for the summer restaurant “La Cour Jardin”, which opened on May 2nd 2012.

Shielded from the Parisian bustle, you can order a “chilled blue lobster, with caponata and coral vinaigrette”, or the “Mediterranean Red Mullets”, one of the dishes from the restaurant Louis XV***, also led by Alain Ducasse, like the Jules Verne.

Pastries “Flushed with success”

In the Galerie des Gobelins (lounges) of the Plaza, summer creations also have their place. Chosen as a thread, the colour red, signature of the hotel, takes every possible form. The collection is inspired just as much by bucolic strolls in the fresh spring air and the heat of a Californian summer.

As a reminder of the English countryside, discover the “Floral Finger” (sponge spread with raspberry and rhubarb compote, topped with scoops of passion fruit and ginger cream), the “Surprise Bouquet” (light lime cheesecake in a basket a of white chocolate, decorated with berry fruits and slivers of almond), or the “Mr Biscuit” (diplomat cream macaroon flavoured with orange flower water and strawberry compote). And inspired from the Californian summer, here is the “Californian thong” (bar of white chocolate flavoured with yuzu zest, takeaway only) and the “Choc-blackberry Doughnut” (dark chocolate sponge, stuffed with blackberry compote), a new interpretation of the famous American doughnut.

An elixir

“L’élixir de printemps” is the novelty of the moment at the bar Plaza. Fruit of the encounter of Thierry Hernandez, mixologist and Head of the Bar Plaza, and Sophie Labbé, famous designer perfumer, it is to be presented from May, 21st 2012. Carried by the desire of creating a “breathe of spring”, the two creators put together the scent of spring roses and the freshness of an evening in May.

With each cocktail is given a bottle of the limited edition of the fragrance “L’élixir de printemps”, allowing you to extend the experience.
