To celebrate the arrival of spring and on the occasion of its centenary, the Groupe Lucien Barrière offers you a new cocktail : the Spring Kiss.
Sweet notes, playful fruits and a hint of ginger make it a floral delight … A cocktail inviting to sweet kisses … To enjoy in every bar of the Barrière’s hotels, such as the Fouquet’s Barrière in Paris.
This creation is part of the four cocktails to follow during the upcoming year to complete the “cocktails of the century collection”, signed by Stéphane Ginouvès, named Meilleur Ouvrier de France Barman 2011 and first Barman of the Hôtel Fouquet’s Barrière.
These cocktails will re-explore flavours like aniseed, chocolate, coffee, by creating surprising associations. Coffee is to be combined with crème de cassis, and pastis with lemonade !
A 100 years old family history
A hundred years has passed since the opening in Deauville of the Hôtel Normandy Barrière and Casino Barrière.
The family business, founded in 1912 by François André and successively expanded by Lucien Barrière, Diane Barrière-Desseigne and Dominique Desseigne went through times to become the French leader of casinos and a reference in the luxury hotel industry. The firm counts among its 17 hotels no less than ten 5-star hotels, in particular in the province, and also offers some 130 bars and 2 Michelin-starred restaurants.
Heart to heart with cinema
The “Barrière spirit”is the result of the association of tradition and modernity, the “incarnation of the French lifestyle”, which very early captivated the cinema industry and its actors. Thus, the Majestic Barrière (founded in 1952) is regarded as the “mythical/legendary hotel of the cinema”, backed by the Cannes International Film Festival.
The Hôtel Normandy Barrière also hosted the shooting of scenes for “A man and a woman” by Claude Lelouch, “Coco before Chanel” by Anne Fontaine, and also Sophie Marceau’s “La disparue de Deauville”.
From Clint Eatswood or Sharon Stone to Catherine Deneuve, Brad Pitt or Marion Cotillard, celebrities feel at home in the Hôtels Barrière.
